That's right, it's that time of year again...SXSW Music Festival! We're excited to announce that Plustapes' alumns Outer Minds and Netherfriends are both venturing down to the wild South to play this year. If you're headed down to Austin make sure to check them out:

We might be almost SOLD OUT of all of our Disappears tapes, but we still love them none-the-less. 

We're very excited that their show at The Empty Bottle with Bare Mutants and (fellow Plustapes alumni) Outer Minds has received top billing on Pitchforks' 2011 Guide to New Year's Eve for Chicago! Make sure to go get your advance tickets now HERE before it undoubtedly sells out.

Here at Plustapes we're all big fans of Radius' super retro-chic style of rap producing. When we heard he had teamed up with LEO123 to create a new project called Lagos, we knew it was going to be good. 

Their sound is described as an "expansive and focused sound" which "takes many...inspirations from 70′s Dub recordings and 80′s house music." We think this album shows a lot of promise, and their debut as Lagos drops on November 29, on Old Tacoma Records.

In Chicago, the beginning of the Winter is not our finest moment. November seems like a call to end of all the fun that Summer brought. Not so with J&Y. It's just what we needed to mix up this cold Winter day. 

J&Y is a French noise/krautrock duo who thoroughly embrace the John & Yoko vibe. Their music takes your mind off the cold weather outside and into their laptop strewn bedside. We highly recommend this to fight off the Winter blues.
