Somehow the planets aligned in the fall of 2008–Chicago spacepunk miscreants Plastic Crimewave Sound were in need of a 2nd guitarist and native Chicagoan Djin Aquarian, of legendary Source Family/Father Yod-led cult-rockers Ya Ho Wha 13, was looking to tour and collaborate. The team-up was surprisingly fruitful, as the unit lept into spaced-out “tribal” jams from the get-go– as heard on the very first practice sessions that make up side A of this cassette release. Even YHW13 classics like “I’m Gonna take You Home” seemed to effortlessly rise out of the sonic mist. After a week-long tour, the feel had grown somehow tighter yet looser–time-worn epics like “We Are The Dinosaurs” really swung, and yet feedback-addled spontaneous compositions magically reared their head on stage as well–as the final show of said tour in NY attests to, on side two of this release.

Upon listening to these recordings months later, Djin simply responded “Father was with us”–and that just might say it all.
